KDP launches ambitious election campaign in Duhok

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) officially launched its election campaign on Monday in Duhok, marking the final phase of a high-profile, three-day series of events designed to showcase its strength, unity, and broad appeal. The Duhok rally, attended by KDP Vice President Masrour Barzani, followed similar events in Kirkuk and Erbil, underscoring the party’s reach across the Kurdistan Region.

The campaign kicked off with a vibrant carnival in Kirkuk, highlighting the KDP’s commitment to unity and coexistence among Kurds, Arabs, Turkmens, and Christians. In Erbil, a formal launch at Saad Abdullah Hall saw the party’s leadership, including President Masoud Barzani, express pride in the diverse candidate list, emphasizing the KDP’s pan-Iraqi vision.

The KDP aims to secure the position of “first party in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region” in the upcoming election, slated for November 11, 2025. The party’s strong organizational presence across key constituencies signals its determination to defend Kurdistan’s rights within Iraq’s federal system, making this election a critical moment in shaping the region’s future.
