Kerala Governor pays tribute to Raila Odinga on Modi’s behalf

Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar paid tribute to former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who passed away in Kerala, on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The mortal remains of Odinga were flown from Kochi to Mumbai by an Indian Air Force aircraft and were received by a high-level delegation from Kenya. The Indian High Commission in Kenya expressed solidarity with Odinga’s family and the people of Kenya.

Odinga, 80, died of a heart attack while walking in Koothattukulam, Kerala, where he was receiving Ayurvedic treatment. Prime Minister Modi remembered Odinga as a “cherished friend of India,” reflecting on their long-standing relationship. Odinga’s legacy as a leader who helped shape Kenyan democracy and foster ties with India remains significant.
