Kizuna Encounter returns with 4-player mode for PC

SNK’s KIZUNA ENCOUNTER: SUPER TAG BATTLE, first released in 1996, is a cult classic. It wasn’t as popular as other SNK games, but its unique tag mechanics and characters have kept a small fanbase. The game is now available on PC with new features as part of the NEOGEO Premium Selection.

Producer Laurent Vernézy discussed the updated release, including a new 4-player mode and tweaks to balance while preserving the original. He shared how SNK aimed to bring the game back for modern players and highlighted the challenges of adding rollback netcode for online play. He also confirmed the game’s hitbox viewer is available in Practice Mode, and boss characters remain unaltered for competitive play.
