Moses Kuria urges Gachagua to show respect in public conduct

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has urged Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to exercise restraint and respect when addressing fellow leaders, particularly women from the Mt Kenya region. In a statement responding to Gachagua’s comments at a rally in Embu, Kuria acknowledged Gachagua’s growing influence but emphasized the need for dignity in public conduct.

Kuria praised Gachagua’s leadership, suggesting that he could consider collaborating with him in the future, similar to the partnership between President William Ruto and Gideon Moi. However, Kuria requested that Gachagua refrain from insulting leaders and women in Mt Kenya, stressing that such remarks were inconsistent with his position as a regional leader.

Kuria, who has previously disagreed with Gachagua on issues like tribal politics, reiterated that politics based on ethnicity has no place in Kenya’s future. He emphasized that all leaders should operate within the law, regardless of political differences.
