Kurdistan Prime Minister approves $86 million water project for Koya

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has approved the allocation of 112.147 billion Iraqi dinars (about $86 million) to address the water shortage in Koya district, according to the Erbil Governorate on Monday. The decision is part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure and quality of life in the area. The project will supply water from the Little Zab River to meet the growing needs of Koya, particularly after the new Erbil-Koya road is finished.

Construction will begin soon, with a local company handling the project using modern designs and technology. Koya, a growing district east of Erbil, has seen increased demand for services like clean water.
