Leonardo DiCaprio remembers Diane Keaton as a legend
Leonardo DiCaprio is remembering his time working with the legendary Diane Keaton, following the news of her passing on Saturday. The 50-year-old actor, who starred alongside Keaton in Marvin’s Room in 1996, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram Stories, calling her “one of a kind, brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself.” He added, “A legend, icon, and a truly kind human being,” expressing how honored he was to work with her at the age of 18.
Keaton played Bessie, the aunt to DiCaprio’s troubled teen character in the film, which also starred Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro. Despite the years, Keaton fondly remembered Leo, even mixing him up with Reese Witherspoon’s son, Deacon, in a 2021 Instagram post, calling him “male beauty.” Witherspoon humorously corrected her, and Keaton’s surprised reaction to the mix-up added a sweet touch to their connection.
