Lewandowski ruled out of Clasico with hamstring injury

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski will miss the Clásico after being diagnosed with a hamstring injury. The 37-year-old picked up the injury during Poland’s World Cup qualifier against Lithuania on Sunday. Barcelona confirmed Lewandowski has a muscle tear in his left thigh, with reports suggesting he could be out for 4 to 6 weeks.

The Polish forward will miss the October 26 Clasico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, as well as upcoming Champions League matches. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia and playmaker Dani Olmo are also set to miss the match, but young winger Lamine Yamal has returned to training. Ferran Torres, who was sent home from Spain’s national team due to muscular discomfort, is not injured, Barcelona confirmed.
