Messi shines with two assists in Argentina’s 6-0 win over Puerto Rico

Lionel Messi provided two assists and helped start another play leading to a goal as Argentina cruised to a 6-0 victory over Puerto Rico in a relocated friendly on Tuesday.

Messi set up Gonzalo Montiel’s first-half goal with a quick lob and later assisted Lautaro Martínez with a clever back pass in the 83rd minute. Alexis Mac Allister scored twice, and Argentina benefited from an own goal midway through the second half.

The match, part of Argentina’s World Cup preparations, was moved from Chicago due to low ticket sales and immigration concerns. The World Cup will be held in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada next year.
