Mirchev accuses Borisov of bowing to Peevski, warns of soft dictatorship
Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria,” criticized Boyko Borisov’s plans for a new government, stating it would consist of four parties, including DPS-New Beginning. Mirchev pointed out that whether or not Delyan Peevski has ministers isn’t important, as Borisov has admitted he does whatever Peevski asks. He accused Borisov of choosing to govern with Peevski instead of listening to the conditions set by PP-DB, which included keeping Peevski away from influencing the institutions.
Mirchev also rejected Borisov’s claims that PP-DB brought Peevski into the leadership of the assembly, explaining that Borisov had always been aligned with Peevski. He stated that with a cabinet controlled by Peevski, there could be no talks of support from his side.
He further criticized the government’s economic policies, saying they would lead to a debt spiral, and argued that their budget proposal, which includes no new taxes, would be better for the country. Mirchev warned of a looming “soft dictatorship” and the increasing control of Peevski’s influence in Bulgaria.
