Mnangagwa expresses condolences on Raila Odinga’s death
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has expressed his condolences to the people of Kenya following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday. In his statement, President Mnangagwa praised Odinga for his dedicated service to Kenya’s development and his commitment to regional and continental progress.
Thousands of mourners gathered at Nairobi’s National Stadium for Odinga’s state funeral on Friday. Many mourners carried national flags, portraits of the late leader, and wore t-shirts with his image to honor him.
Earlier, Odinga’s body was taken to parliament for a final farewell by legislators and dignitaries. Kenya has declared a seven-day period of mourning in his memory.
