Mnangagwa honors hero Mzheri, calls for unity and hard work

President Mnangagwa has reaffirmed the Zanu PF-led government’s commitment to national unity, hard work, and the values upheld by Zimbabwe’s liberation heroes. Speaking at the burial of Brigadier-General (Rtd) Mpandasekwa Mzheri at the National Heroes Acre, the President emphasized the need for the nation to draw inspiration from the late hero’s courage, discipline, and service to Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa recalled Mzheri’s extensive military career, highlighting his leadership in the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and his contributions during the liberation struggle. The President also praised Mzheri’s professionalism, loyalty, and patriotism, calling him a model for future generations. He extended his condolences to the Mzheri family and reaffirmed the nation’s gratitude for the hero’s sacrifice.

Mzheri’s remarkable career included serving in the Mozambique and Congo campaigns and holding senior military roles. He was also involved in the Lancaster House peace talks and was honored with numerous awards for his dedicated service. His burial was attended by top government officials, including Vice Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi.
