Survey claims majority backs Mnangagwa’s 2030 term extension

A social media user, Herbert Mate, has claimed that surveys across Zimbabwe show strong support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s proposed term extension to 2030. Mate posted on X (formerly Twitter), citing surveys conducted by @Varakashi4ED, which allegedly found that most Zimbabweans and ZANU PF members back Resolution Number 1, seeking to extend Mnangagwa’s presidency.

Mate attributed the support to ongoing development projects and the President’s Vision 2030, which promises national growth. Despite growing public opposition over constitutional concerns, Mate emphasized that citizens are backing the President’s vision of an upper-middle-income society by 2030. The debate on the issue is expected to heat up at the upcoming ZANU PF National People’s Conference in Mutare.
