Mohammed Siraj named Impact Player of the Series after India’s 2-0 win over West Indies

After India’s 2-0 whitewash of the West Indies in the recent two-Test series, pacer Mohammed Siraj was named ‘Impact Player of the Series’. Siraj took seven wickets in the first Test and three in the second, playing a key role in India’s dominant victories. Reflecting on his performance, Siraj shared that every wicket he took felt as significant as five wickets, particularly in challenging conditions in New Delhi where he bowled many overs.

Siraj, who considers Test cricket his favorite format, expressed pride in his achievements and the mental and physical challenges the format presents. India’s wicketkeeper-batter N. Jagadeesan, presenting Siraj’s medal in the dressing room, praised Siraj’s consistent performance, energy, and leadership on the field.

The win in the second Test marked India’s tenth consecutive victory over the West Indies and their 122nd overall Test win, moving past South Africa to No. 3 in the rankings. It was also India’s first Test series win under captain Shubman Gill’s leadership.
