Mumbai Meteors hold off Kochi Blue Spikers in thriller
Mumbai Meteors triumphed over Kochi Blue Spikers in a thrilling five-set match, winning 15-7, 7-15, 13-15, 15-8, 15-11 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Karthik was named Player of the Match for his standout performance.
Kochi fought back after a slow start, with Hemanth and Amal K Thomas providing attacking strength and Amrinderpal Singh delivering key defensive blocks. Kochi leveled the match with a super point from Hemanth, gaining confidence as the game progressed.
Mumbai responded by bringing in Karthik A and Vipul Kumar, and the momentum shifted in their favor. Amit Gulia’s solid receptions and Shubham Chaudhary’s crucial blocks helped push the Meteors to a hard-fought victory, with Mathias Loftesnes leading the attack.
The victory kept Mumbai at the top of the table with 11 points from four games, while Kochi sits in ninth place with one win from five matches.
