Mundrov says Bulgaria starts EU-level cybersecurity plan

Bulgaria has launched a national cybersecurity initiative that aims to establish the country as a European Union leader in digital defense capabilities, according to e-Government Minister Valentin Mundrov. During meetings with German economic representatives and Ambassador Grigor Porozhanov in Berlin, Mundrov outlined plans for threat detection infrastructure and enhanced coordination among government agencies while emphasizing shared European security objectives as foundations for expanded technological partnerships.

The minister highlighted Bulgaria’s robust information technology sector and internationally recognized specialists as assets for developing secure digital solutions. German business delegates expressed interest in leveraging Bulgarian expertise following recent discussions with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, with Mundrov noting that German firms already collaborate extensively with Bulgarian professionals on global projects requiring advanced technical competencies and innovative approaches to infrastructure development.
