Myanmar delegation joins ASEAN disaster management talks in Cambodia

A Myanmar delegation, led by Union Minister Dr Soe Win, attended the 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) in Cambodia. They joined a dinner hosted by Cambodian officials on 15 October.

On 16 October, Dr Soe Win met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and participated in the opening ceremony of the meeting. He also attended several related events and meetings, including the ASEAN-China, ASEAN-Japan, and ASEAN-Korea discussions on disaster management.

During the meetings, Dr Soe Win thanked China, Japan, and Korea for their support during the Mandalay earthquake. He highlighted Myanmar’s continued commitment to ASEAN-China cooperation and thanked Japan for its relief efforts. Cambodia passed the AMMDM chairmanship to Indonesia for 2026.
