Saint Petersburg officials visit Shwedagon Pagoda

Mr Evgeny Grigoryev, Chair of the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg, and his wife visited Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon yesterday morning. They toured the pagoda, made a donation to the Board of Trustees, and received a certificate of honour. They also fed fish at the pond near the Shin Uppagutta statue.

Meanwhile, Mr Vyacheslav Kalganov, Vice-Chair of the Committee, attended the award ceremony for the Russia-Myanmar Friendship Painting Competition at Basic Education High School No 1 in Thanlyin. The event included performances and speeches, with students presenting a poem and dance.

Mr Kalganov later gave flower baskets to the students and visited the Thanlyin District Administration Office to discuss cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, and economic development. The delegation also visited the Thilawa Special Economic Zone and a charity home in Kyauktan Township.
