Myanmar Election Commission plans for smooth voting with machines

The Union Election Commission has conducted a coordination meeting on the successful administration of the upcoming election. The commission’s chairman, U Than Soe, reviewed processes from the 2020 general election and detailed measures for the new vote. He explained that voting machines would be deployed to enable citizens across the nation to cast their ballots accurately and easily.

U Than Soe stated that these MEVM devices would facilitate a quick and convenient voting process while ensuring full transparency and voter confidence. He confirmed that the machines had received a Certificate of Conformity after being tested against the national standard for electronic voting. Commission member U Aung Lwin Oo, who is responsible for the machines, discussed their distribution to regional governments. The meeting also covered demonstration programs for the public and the effective management of election funds.
