World Tipitaka Foundation donates copies to ITBMU in Yangon

The World Tipitaka Foundation of Thailand presented copies of its 2016 World Tipitaka editions to the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University in Yangon. The ceremony was attended by the university’s rector, Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Chekinda, the Thai ambassador, and other dignitaries.

A representative from the Thai royal palace, Ms. Chatbenja Nandhabiwat, delivered remarks on behalf of the ambassador and the foundation. The Thai ambassador and royal attendant, Ms. Thanpuying Chatkeo Nandhabiwat, then formally donated the Tipitaka copies to the rector. In return, the Sayadaw presented a mosaic painting of the university as a gift. Dr. Bhaddanta Acinna, a department head at the university, concluded the event with words of appreciation.
