Namibian police seize drugs and arrest 196 suspects
Nearly 392 tonnes of cannabis and over 28,000 Mandrax tablets got yanked off the streets during a single month’s drug crackdown.
February’s massive narcotics haul
- Namibian Police grabbed 391,879.86 kilograms of cannabis in total.
- Some 28,363 Mandrax tablets were scooped up.
- Cocaine powder seizures came to 47.7 grams.
- Crack cocaine netted 412.5 units alongside 50 abortion pills.
Arrest figures and nationality split
- A total of 196 suspects got collared in February.
- Namibian nationals made up 187 of those detained.
- Seven Angolan citizens were among the arrested.
- One Zimbabwean and one Tanzanian round out the list.
