NCP leader slams July Charter signing as national betrayal

Nahid Islam, the convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), called the signing of the National July Charter a betrayal of the nation in the name of unity. He made this statement at the inaugural event of the affiliate organization, ‘Jatiya Sramik Shakti’ on 17 October in Iskaton, Dhaka.

In his speech, Nahid explained that true national unity arises when people from all walks of life come together for a common cause. He added that Jatiya Sramik Shakti would work to establish humane politics and fight for workers’ rights.

He criticized Sheikh Hasina’s government for oppressing workers and promised that Jatiya Sramik Shakti would ensure the freedom and dignity of workers. At the event’s conclusion, Nahid Islam announced the leadership of Jatiya Sramik Shakti, naming its chief organizer, secretary, and convener.
