Neetu Chandra celebrates PM Modi’s praise for Chhath Puja music video

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted actress Neetu Chandra’s 2016 Chhath Puja music video featuring singer Sharda Sinha, prompting the National Award winner to express gratitude for the recognition. Chandra produced the devotional piece with her brother, Nitin Chandra, and released her film, Chhath, on WAVES OTT on Thursday, October 24, showcasing Bihar’s festival traditions through a story about family bonds.

The Bihar native serves as SVEEP icon for the state’s legislative assembly elections scheduled across two phases on Wednesday, November 6, and Tuesday, November 11. She encouraged citizens to participate in selecting representatives for the 243-seat assembly rather than treating polling days as holidays.

Results will be announced on Thursday, November 14, coinciding with Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary. Chandra emphasized that Bihar-based artists populated her film’s cast while urging voters to help advance the state through unified electoral participation.
