Shetty recently discussed his directorial work on Kantara: Chapter 1, posting production images that showed him managing scenes. He disclosed filming the climax sequence while dealing with leg swelling and physical fatigue, crediting divine support for the segment that gained widespread audience appreciation.
The October 2 release serves as a prequel to the 2022 original, exploring ceremonial roots and inherited disputes from the first installment. Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah appear in significant supporting roles.
