Veteran actor Satish Shah dies at 74 from kidney failure
Veteran actor Satish Shah died on Saturday in Mumbai from kidney failure at age 74. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed Shah was rushed to Hinduja Hospital in Shivaji Park after falling ill at home but could not be saved.
Shah earned recognition through performances in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om. The Cine and TV Artistes Association noted his membership since 1985 while mourning his passing.
The actor leaves behind his wife, designer Madhu Shah. His final screen appearance came in the 2014 release Humshakals alongside Saif Ali Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.
Shah becomes the fourth major entertainment industry figure to die this month, following actors Pankaj Dheer and Asrani, plus advertising executive Piyush Pandey.
