New Yatri Suvidha Kendra at New Delhi Station enhances passenger experience

The newly unveiled Yatri Suvidha Kendra at New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) is set to make festival travel a breeze. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw toured the state-of-the-art facility, designed to handle a surge in passengers with ease. This Kendra, capable of accommodating 7,000 people at once, is divided into three zones: ticketing, post-ticketing, and pre-ticketing areas, ensuring smooth movement and reducing crowding.

Equipped with 22 ticket counters, 25 ATVMs, and a seating capacity for 200, it’s the ultimate convenience hub. The project overcame major hurdles, including demolishing old structures and shifting essential utilities.

To top it off, the extension of Foot Over Bridge 1 (FOB 1) boosts connectivity, allowing passengers to exit directly towards the Metro Station, easing platform congestion. Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet approved a Rs 1,866 crore bonus for railway employees to recognize their hard work.
