Nicki Minaj cancels new album, blames Jay-Z
Nicki Minaj recently announced she has canceled her upcoming album, blaming senior rapper Jay-Z for the decision. She had planned to release her sixth LP in March 2026, but after a post last month, she declared on X (formerly Twitter) that the album is no longer happening. She tagged Jay-Z in several posts, expressing frustration with certain parties who, she believes, don’t want her to succeed.
Nicki accused them of trying to stop her success because they’re jealous of her potential and success. She also mentioned Jay-Z’s plans for a casino in New York City, making a joke about rejecting offers for a tour and album. In a live broadcast, Nicki emphasized that she controls the direction of her career.
