Nikolay Popov forms civil movement for justice

Nikolay Popov has launched a civic initiative following the traffic collision that killed his daughter Siyana, positioning the effort as nonpartisan pressure on government officials rather than a political organization. The bereaved parent told national television that membership remains open to all citizens seeking judicial reform and road safety improvements.

His campaign includes demanding Supreme Court of Cassation President Galina Zakharova resign over alleged corruption patterns within the judiciary, which Popov described as shielded by inconsistent judicial reasoning. A petition targeting contradictory interpretative decisions has accompanied calls for expert witness legislation and reversal of recent criminal code amendments that parliamentary factions have ignored.

The fatal March crash occurred between Telish and Radomirtsi when a 65-year-old truck operator struck a vehicle carrying the child and her grandparents. Popov warned that continued institutional indifference to road casualties could trigger uncontrolled public demonstrations at legislative buildings.
