Nine juveniles injured in crash in Orange County

Ten people sustained serious injuries after a rear-end collision sent one vehicle into a tree on Thursday evening in Orange County, Florida. The crash happened on Raleigh Street near Campanella Avenue in the Carver Shores neighborhood when an Alfa Romeo hit a Nissan Altima from behind, authorities said.

The Altima carried nine juveniles who were transported to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The adult driver went to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 29-year-old Kissimmee resident who drove the Alfa Romeo remained at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

Fire rescue teams and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrived to assist. The Florida Highway Patrol has not disclosed the ages of the injured children or provided specific details about their medical conditions. Carver Shores sits west of downtown Orlando in a residential section of the county.
