Oburu Odinga pledges to honor brother Raila’s legacy
Oburu Odinga, the acting leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), promised to carry on his brother Raila Odinga’s political work. He spoke to ODM leaders and members at Nyayo National Stadium during the state funeral on Friday. Oburu thanked the party for choosing him as leader, saying he would do his best not to let them down.
He recognized that Raila’s legacy is big, but he vowed to try his hardest. Oburu was appointed the acting party leader by ODM’s National Executive Committee (NEC) after Raila’s death. This appointment is seen as important for keeping the party strong during this time of change.
