Ogun Assembly urges action over 52 police checkpoints

Ogun State lawmakers are raising hell over the shocking number of police checkpoints clogging up the Owode-Idiroko road, with more than 52 checkpoints along a 20-kilometre stretch. The Assembly is demanding immediate action from the state government, National Assembly, and the Inspector-General of Police to put a stop to this madness. The constant harassment of residents and commercial drivers has gotten so bad, it sparked a five-day strike that crippled the region. Lawmakers are furious, accusing officers of extorting and bullying commuters, and they’re calling for an urgent solution before the situation gets any worse.

The Assembly didn’t hold back, sending their petition straight to the top: the National Assembly, the IG of Police, and even the National Security Adviser are all being dragged into this mess.
