Pakistan-Afghanistan border closure disrupts trade
Key border crossings between Pakistan and Afghanistan have remained shut for four days, severely affecting trade and economic activities. Crossings such as Torkham, Spin Boldak, and others have been closed due to rising political and military tensions between the two nations. Hundreds of trucks with goods are stranded, and no timeline has been given for reopening the borders.
The Border Chamber of Commerce and Industry has reported significant losses and urged both governments to resolve the issue. Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce has criticized Pakistan’s actions as a violation of international trade norms. The Taliban also reported casualties from a Pakistani military strike on Spin Boldak, further escalating tensions.
