Pakistan’s CJCSC discusses ties with Bangladesh chief adviser
Pakistan’s top military officer met Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, on Saturday at the State Guest House Jamuna to discuss strengthening bilateral ties. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza told Yunus that a shipping route between Karachi and Chattogram has started operations and an air connection will open within months.
The leaders addressed trade expansion, investment opportunities and defense partnerships between the nations. Mirza highlighted cultural bonds and economic potential linking the countries while pledging mutual support.
Both officials stressed the need to reduce conflicts in the Middle East and Europe. They warned that false information spreads on social media, destabilizing regions, and called for international action against digital misinformation.
National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, Senior Secretary Lamiya Morshed and Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider attended the session.
