Peter Obi dismisses fears of one-party state in Nigeria
Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, dismissed concerns about Nigeria becoming a one-party state. He stated that no political party can control a region simply because a governor defects to it. Obi said that leadership is about persuasion, not force, and the people, not politicians, decide which party to support. He emphasized that public officials should focus on good governance and policies that benefit citizens, as political shifts cannot guarantee loyalty without performance.
