Piyush Goyal urges chemical sector to lead global innovation
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized that India’s chemicals and petrochemical industry has the potential to lead in developing new technologies, boosting the economy, and providing advanced solutions globally. Speaking at the 7th Indian Chemicals and Petrochemicals Conference, he highlighted the sector’s key role in industries like agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, and energy.
Goyal urged industry leaders to identify areas where India can excel globally and increase its share in global exports. He also pointed out the global shift toward value-added products, clean energy, and climate technologies. The minister outlined the government’s efforts to expand trade agreements, ensuring access to new markets and fostering innovation while protecting domestic industries.
