Pleven keeps water restrictions in place

Pleven authorities maintained water restrictions after their latest crisis committee session. Regional Governor Martin Machev said river conditions remain unstable from recent rainfall and officials need more time to assess supply stability. The Water and Sanitation Department posts daily intake volumes from all sources on its website while quality tests confirm the water meets drinking standards.

Pleven municipality finalizes agreements with the Regional Development Ministry for Druzhba infrastructure projects. Workers completed a new well in Kartozhabene and plan another in Kashin as crews repair over 10 pipeline failures per day. Two weeks of precipitation failed to ease concerns about long-term water availability as restoration efforts continue.
