PM Modi launches PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and pulse self-reliance mission
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched two new schemes aimed at boosting farmers’ self-reliance and welfare: the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulse Self-Reliance Mission.
Speaking at a special Krishi programme in the national capital, PM Modi emphasized that these initiatives “will change the fate of Indian farmers.” He added that these schemes are crucial for India’s self-reliance and for improving the lives of millions of farmers.
PM Modi highlighted the importance of agriculture in India’s development, criticizing past governments for neglecting the sector. He stated that agricultural reforms have been underway since 2014, with efforts to empower farmers and increase investment.
The PM announced that 100 districts were selected for the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, based on factors like yield, multiple crop cycles, and loan facilities. He also introduced the Dalhan Aatmnirbharta Mission, with a budget of Rs. 11,440 crore, aimed at boosting pulse production and addressing nutrition needs.
