PM Modi vows India will soon be free from Maoist terror
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message at the NDTV World Summit, stating that Maoist terrorism in India is nearly over. He made a personal guarantee that the country will soon be free from this threat. Modi spoke emotionally about the decades of violence that hindered development and caused suffering, particularly among the poorest villagers, farmers, and tribal communities.
Modi highlighted significant progress, revealing that out of the 125 districts once affected by Maoism, only 11 remain, with just three classified as highly vulnerable. He also shared the recent surrender of 303 Naxalites, including key figures with bounties on their heads, signaling a shift toward embracing India’s Constitution. He expressed optimism for regions like Bastar, once a Maoist stronghold, where cultural and social revival is taking place.
