Prof Ali Riaz hopeful all parties will sign July Charter

National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Prof Ali Riaz expressed hope that all political parties would sign the July Charter on Friday (17 Oct), aiming for a festive signing. He emphasized that political differences are natural, but unity is essential to counter fascism. Speaking at an NCC meeting in Dhaka, he said the Charter represents a shared commitment to democratic reform. Riaz confirmed that preparations were complete for the smooth signing of the Charter by all political party representatives. He highlighted the progress made on 84 key issues and stressed that the Charter’s implementation should reach every citizen, not just be a formal ceremony.
