BNP agrees to sign July Charter, demands dissent notes be included

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed confirmed that the party would sign the July National Charter 2025 but insisted that all “notes of dissent” be explicitly mentioned. He stated that the next government, formed through the national election, would need to provide legal backing for the Charter, as its legal validity depends on the Jatiya Sangsad. Salahuddin emphasized that the signing of the Charter is separate from the election, which must be held in the first week of February. He expressed hope that the Charter would be signed on 17 October and made public, with further proposals on its implementation to follow.
