Rain delays Bangladesh-India World Cup clash
Rain postponed the Women’s Cricket World Cup match between Bangladesh and India by 2 hours, with play starting at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Officials shortened the contest to 43 overs per team after the weather interrupted the schedule.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur chose to bowl after winning the toss. Bangladesh entered the match already eliminated, following five consecutive defeats after beating Pakistan in their opener. India had secured a semifinal berth and sought to maintain momentum before the knockout rounds.
India gave wicketkeeper Uma Chetry her first cap while resting three players. Bangladesh replaced Fargana Hoque with Sumaiya Akter as their lone lineup change.
