Butler calls for realism ahead of tough Thailand friendly

Bangladesh coach Peter James Butler acknowledged Thailand’s superior squad depth ahead of their second friendly match on Monday at the 72nd Anniversary Stadium in Bangkok. The mentor said Thailand could field an entirely different lineup and still maintain quality after the first meeting between the teams revealed a significant gap in talent and experience.

Butler noted his squad faces added difficulty playing away from Bangladesh, where the team has not competed since facing Chinese Taipei. He stressed the importance of maintaining realistic expectations while building the consistency needed to close the performance gap. The coach said numerous factors affect results when teams play on foreign ground.

Bangladesh aims to demonstrate improved organization and fighting spirit against stronger opposition on Monday. The team hopes lessons from the opening match will help them respond with greater resilience in the second contest.
