Rashford wants Barcelona stay after loan
Marcus Rashford expressed his desire to extend his stay at Barcelona beyond the current loan agreement from Manchester United. The 27-year-old England striker moved to Spain on a season-long deal with Barcelona covering his salary after he accepted reduced wages. An option to purchase is available at approximately 30 million euros, while his Manchester contract extends through 2028.
Rashford has thrived under manager Hansi Flick at Barcelona, scoring five goals and providing six assists across 12 matches in all competitions. He told ESPN that spending 23 years at Manchester United had prepared him for something different. The forward praised Barcelona as one of football’s historic institutions and called playing there an honor.
His relationship with former United boss Ruben Amorim deteriorated last year before the loan move materialized. Rashford previously regained form on a brief loan at Aston Villa before joining Barcelona. He prepares for his first Clásico match against Real Madrid on Sunday.
