RM2.4 billion allocated for federal road upgrades in Peninsular Malaysia

The Works Ministry has set aside RM2.4 billion this year for road upkeep in Peninsular Malaysia. Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi shared that RM1.3 billion was used by September for road works, including traffic lights and bridge repairs. RM37 million is also allocated for road safety, covering 109 projects to improve high-risk areas and pedestrian crossings. The projects aim to improve road safety and comfort, help the local economy, and support over 1,700 contractors. Nanta highlighted efforts to reduce accidents and ensure roads are safe for all, including better crossings near schools and hospitals.
