Ronaldo breaks World Cup qualifier goal record

Cristiano Ronaldo set another record, becoming the player with the most goals in World Cup qualifiers after scoring twice in Portugal’s 2-2 draw with Hungary. His first goal, in the 22nd minute, was his 40th in qualifiers, surpassing Carlos Ruiz’s record. He added a second goal in stoppage time, bringing his total to 41 goals in 50 World Cup qualifiers.

Ronaldo, now with 143 international goals, was substituted in the 78th minute, and Hungary equalized in stoppage time through Dominik Szoboszlai. Despite the draw, Portugal leads Group F by five points over Hungary.
