Russia turns to bikes in drone war

Russian forces have adopted motorcycles and lightweight vehicles for assaults after losing thousands of armored units to Ukrainian drone strikes. Former Deputy Defense Minister Yordan Bozhilov told Bulgarian National Television that Moscow captured just 0.4 percent of Ukrainian land over 12 months despite these adapted tactics. Ukrainian commanders reported destroying 100 Russian motorcycles and 240 soldiers near Pokrovsk on April 17, while similar attacks eliminated 70 bikes near Vilne Pole in early May.

American financial penalties against Rosneft and Lukoil will disrupt Russian military procurement and economic stability, according to Bozhilov. The Treasury Department targeted both firms on Wednesday, October 22, as they export 3 million barrels of oil per day, which represents half of Russia’s petroleum exports abroad. Indian refiner Reliance Industries plans to reduce or halt Russian crude purchases to comply with the restrictions.
