Bulgaria, Vietnam seal eight accords

Bulgaria and Vietnam formalized eight cooperation agreements on Friday at a Council of Ministers ceremony attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and Communist Party Secretary General Tho Lam. The nations are committed to expanding partnerships across defense, cybersecurity, digital technology, labor policy, and scientific research. Deputy Defense Minister Radostin Iliev and Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Zang signed military cooperation agreements, while interior officials agreed to jointly combat cybercrime.

The agreements mark 75 years of diplomatic ties between Sofia and Hanoi. Foreign ministers exchanged amendments to visa exemptions for diplomatic passport holders as education and regional authorities established sister relationships. The strategic partnership elevates bilateral relations to their highest level following deliberations between government delegations.
