Sairaj Bahutule set to join Punjab Kings as spin coach for IPL 2026

Former India leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule is set to join Punjab Kings (PBKS) as their new spin bowling coach ahead of the 2026 IPL season. Bahutule, who was part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) support staff in IPL 2025, is reportedly moving on from the franchise, which is undergoing a major shake-up in their backroom staff.

Bahutule, who has previously worked as a spin bowling coach at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, is expected to bring his extensive experience to PBKS, who finished as runners-up in IPL 2025. Sources indicate that he has already begun scouting players for the upcoming IPL 2026 auction.

Bahutule will replace Sunil Joshi, who left PBKS to become the spin bowling coach at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. PBKS’s support staff also includes head coach Ricky Ponting, assistant coach Brad Haddin, and fast bowling coach James Hopes.
