Samrat Choudhary files nomination for Tarapur seat in Bihar polls

BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary filed his nomination papers for the Bihar Assembly elections from the Tarapur seat in Munger district on Thursday. He is the NDA’s joint candidate for the seat, which was previously held by the Janata Dal (United).

JD(U) MLA Rajiv Singh, who previously represented Tarapur, was present during the nomination and expressed his full support for Samrat Choudhary despite losing his ticket. Singh, signaling unity within the NDA, pledged to campaign for Choudhary.

After filing his nomination, Choudhary highlighted the development in Tarapur under the NDA government and promised to focus on roads, education, electricity, and irrigation. He called for a strong mandate to help accelerate Bihar’s development. The show of unity between BJP and JD(U) is expected to make the Tarapur contest more competitive.
