Sangeeta Bijlani seeks faster probe after burglary at Pune home
Actress Sangeeta Bijlani is still reeling from the trauma of a burglary that took place at her Pune bungalow earlier this year. At an award function in Pune on Saturday, Sangeeta revealed that she’s been in touch with police to speed up the investigation.
The burglary, which occurred at her house in Pavana, saw thieves make off with a TV worth Rs 7,000 and Rs 50,000 in cash. The actress expressed feeling unsafe, especially as the bungalow had been her home for 20 years. She met SP Sandeep Singh Gill to request a faster investigation, sharing how unsettling the experience has been for her.
The theft was discovered on July 18, 2025, when Sangeeta arrived at her bungalow, which had been vacant for four months. The culprits remain at large.
Sangeeta, who started her career as a model at 16 and went on to win the Miss India Universe title in 1980, debuted in Bollywood with Qatil in 1988. She starred in films like Tridev, Hathyar, and Jurm, before her last appearance in the 1996 film Nirbhay.
