SAU hosts workshop on consumer rights and careers

Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University hosted a consumer rights training session on Sunday, where roughly 100 students learned about legal protections and digital career paths. The Conscious Consumers Society and Consumer Youth Bangladesh ran the six-hour program at the campus administrative building.

Mohammad Hasanuzzaman from the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection explained the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 to attendees. Palash Mahmud from the Conscious Consumers Society led the multimedia marketing segment.

Vice Chancellor Md Abdul Latif warned students about food contamination with artificial additives and carcinogens. He praised the workshop for teaching young people their consumer duties. Pro-Vice Chancellor Md Belal Hossain said the programs would help students advance their professional development while raising food safety awareness.

Guests distributed certificates to participants after the sessions ended at 3 p.m. The Consumer Youth Bangladesh chapter was formed in 2024 and conducts regular campaigns to educate students about product safety standards.
